Yushin Imura is Helping to Drive the Next Phase of Growth at OSS

With Original Survey Solutions (OSS) on a course of steady, deliberate growth, Principal and Vice President of Growth Yushin Imura, PE, LSIT, is helping the firm take a broader view of its future.

Imura joined the firm officially in the second quarter of 2026, bringing more than 20 years of experience in land development, surveying and infrastructure design, along with an extensive professional network and a passion for the business side of the industry. As a member of OSS’s leadership team, he is focused on strengthening client relationships, identifying new opportunities and helping the firm engage earlier in the development process.

For OSS President and CEO Will Paul, bringing Imura into that role was as much about leadership as technical expertise.

“Yushin is an exceptionally talented engineer and business developer, and a fantastic human being,” Paul says. “I’ve known him for a long time, and we’ve always done great things when we’ve worked together. If we’re going to grow OSS the way we want to grow it, we need smart, driven people in leadership who can help us create opportunities and build the business the right way. Yushin is exactly that kind of person.”

A Partnership Renewed

Paul and Imura were colleagues earlier in their careers and have long recognized that their strengths complement one another. For Paul, Imura’s contribution extends well beyond the additional technical capabilities. “We plan to keep growing without losing what makes OSS special. Having people like Yushin helping to lead that growth is how we do it.”

“Will and I have always made a great team,” Imura says. “We can talk business, bounce ideas off each other, and we have a shared understanding of what it takes to serve clients well. Will is a visionary, an excellent marketer and a leader with a strong CEO mindset. He’s great at details like contracts, financials and operations. I enjoy building new relationships and maintaining the current ones, slowly meeting everyone on earth one-by-one.”

Imura’s business development experience is particularly important as OSS looks to build on its rapid growth while expanding the relationships and capabilities that support its core surveying business. His connections with developers, contractors and other industry partners can help OSS identify opportunities earlier, including during predevelopment when decisions about project teams and approaches are often taking shape.

Imura came to OSS along with his 10-person team from YCG Civil Engineering as part of OSS’s acquisition of the firm. The move added YCG’s people, project experience and technical capabilities to OSS while giving Imura the broader organization and leadership team he was seeking as a firm owner.

“When you run your own firm, you wear every hat at one time or another,” Imura says. “OSS gives me the support of a full and talented leadership team so I can focus on growing the firm and improving our services and functions.”
